The government of India esteems the health of its citizens as well as that of foreigners. In pursuit of this, there are established healthcare facilities that are not only efficient but also affordable and meet the needs of visitors from both developed and developing countries. For the foreigners, the government has made it even better through the introduction of the e-Medical visa. This online visa is specially availed for individuals traveling to India to seek medical treatment. For the visa application process to be successful, the institution you are seeking health care services must be recognized and thus licensed to operate in India. The process of apply for Indian e-Medical Visa is purely online and below we provide essential information to assist you in the application process.
For you to get the visa, you need to present all the mentioned documents in their right format.
The medical facility where you are planning to get treatment must be reputable and an institution recognized by the Indian government. To validate your e-Medical visa, you will need relevant documents and letters from concerned doctors or hospitals in your country. For example, a referral letter.
From the time you arrive in India, your medical e-visa is valid for 60 days and you are allowed only three entries. This e-Medical visa is not extendable and once the valid time expires, and you need further treatment, you will need to apply afresh. Extending your stay beyond the visa validity will result in financial penalties. Moreover, the medical electronic visa is not transferable. That means the name of the person on the visa is the one who will receive treatment.
After correctly filling the Indian Visa application form, you will be required to make the payments. The fees you pay are categorized into two: the government fees and the visa processing fees. None of these is refundable even if your visa is rejected. Thus, you need to avoid any mistake such as inputting the name that is not exactly the same way on the passport. The particular charges will be specified and you can use your debit/credit card or even your PayPal account to make the payments – whichever suits you best.
This is an online process and you will receive a notification of approval or rejection using the email address you provided while filling the form. As such, you will need to ensure the email is valid and it is your responsibility to check your email and know when the travel authorization approval letter is sent.
