Working Hours:
The embassy is open on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, and closed on Saturday, and Sunday. The embassy remains closed on Bangladesh and India public holidays as well.

How to Book an Appointment?
The Bangladesh Embassy in India has introduced an innovative "online appointment system." This system aims to organize the visa application systems, quickly process submissions, and documents, and offer efficient consular services. The service is available 24/7, and with helpful features like automatic queuing and user-friendly steps for booking an appointment, it has turned out to be an effective system.

Anyone can use this system to book an appointment with the Bangladesh Embassy in India. There are no charges applied for using this service. An online appointment system's benefit is that applicants can easily book appointments for multiple consular services, change the date or time of visit, or even cancel the appointment conveniently.

The online appointment system currently offers three modes of booking, namely Initial Appointment, Change an Appointment, and Cancel or Delete an appointment.

Consular Services:
The embassy offers a wide range of consular services to citizens residing or visiting India and people wishing to visit for tourism or investment purposes.

The embassy can facilitate various services, including the issuance of passport and visa, document legalization, identity verification, birth, marriage, and death certificates, and emergency travel documentation.

In case you are a Bangladesh citizen and have lost your passport or ID card, you can contact the embassy to obtain a new passport and ID card. You may also apply for emergency travel documents in case of damaged, lost, or expired passports. If you are traveling, the embassy will ensure that your desired documents are issued before your visa expires. If a minor or underage person requires emergency travel documents, the embassy will need a written application from a guardian or parent to issue a new ID card or passport.

It is worth noting that the Consular Section of the India Embassy in Bangladesh has started issuing a visa. However, only British citizens can currently apply for a visa to India.

Please note that citizens of countries categorized as visa-exempt to enter India by the Bangladesh government cannot apply for a visa. Moreover, the fourteen-day self-isolation rule is no longer applicable, but visitors will have to show a negative COVID-19 test report upon arriving. The test report must not be more than three days older than the date of departure.
